Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 12 deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,641 in the Union Territory while 351 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 106,899 in J&K.
Of the exact number of 106,899 cases, 64,327 are from Kashmir and 42,572 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 351 new cases, 166 belong to Kashmir division while as 185 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 64,327 including 59,699 recoveries and 1,079 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 42,572 including 40,128 recoveries and 562 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,431 including 3,549 from Kashmir division and 1,882 from Jammu division.
With 608 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 99,827, which is 93.38 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 79 from Srinagar, 16 from Baramulla, 23 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama, 17 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 185 from Jammu division include 98 from Jammu, 03 from Rajouri, 20 from Udhampur, 23 from Doda, 04 from Kathua, 02 from Poonch, 06 from Samba, 15 from Kishtwar, 10 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi," officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours twelve persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them five belong to Kashmir division and seven to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one each from Budgam, Kupwara and Kulgam in Kashmir division and two each from Jammu and Samba and three from Udhampur in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 22,429 positive cases including 405 deaths and 20,605 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,259 including 159 deaths and 6,618 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,728 including 6,326 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Budgam, 4,997 including 4,759 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,076 including 81 deaths and 4,484 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,507 including 4,286 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,343 cases including 4,122 and 50 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,104 including 3,837 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,579 including 2,464 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,305 including 2,198 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 19,844 including 18,975 recoveries and 291 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,381 including 3,233 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,322 including 2,880 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,970 including 2,744 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Doda, 2,687 including 2,588 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kathua, 2,371 including 2,280 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,374 including 2,205 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Samba, 2,354 including 2,160 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,851 including 1,718 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,418 including 1,345 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 767,082 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,512 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,431 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 694,509 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,989 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,831,855 samples are available.
Out of 2,831,855 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,724,956 while as 106,899 have tested positive, among them 5,431 persons are active, 99,827 persons have recovered and 1,641 persons have died—(KNO)
